It all begins with an idea……Lake Tahoe is where we do our brainstorming and where we were when we decided to begin True Roots Nature School. It is only fitting that we begin our True Roots Travels Blog after another trip to Tahoe.
As many of you know True Roots began with the intent to get our children and their friends outdoors learning and growing in nature. With five kiddos in our household life is one big Adventure! We want to share this adventure with you and our travels on the road as a family of 7. It is possible to travel with little ones and go on adventures Big and Small. Come join us on our adventures!
A Week in Lake Tahoe
It all begins with an idea.
Lake Tahoe is one of our favorite destinations with young children! There is adventure, relaxation, and fun for all ages. It is incredibly family friendly and a short 4-hour car ride away. We decided to leave early on Saturday to get a head start on the holiday traffic. We were able to arrive in Kings Beach before noon which left time to begin our trip before check in.
We have found that traveling with a big family, hotels can be expensive and lack the amenities that we need. Airbnb is the best resource for home rentals. A way that we maximize our budget for adventure is cooking meals on vacation. Let’s face it, going out to dinner with 5 kids can be anything but relaxing - not to mention “kid’s meals” are expensive and lack nutrition. We enjoy a well-stocked kitchen and Janet and Zee’s place had everything we needed!
We spent the week in Incline Village at an awesome Airbnb * We had plenty of space, privacy and a pool to enjoy!
